My husband, Ken, is a silversmith and stone cutter; I am a wire wrapper but that was not always so!
Ken and I started to rock hound in 2006. It was a fun and interesting hobby that we could do together. We found many local stones that we saw great beauty in. After a few months, we began to purchase rocks from around the world...Russia, Africa, India, Brazil, USA. Our "rock pile" soon became a "mini-mountain" of rock.
At this point, Ken and I knew we wanted to share the real beauty of these rocks with everyone else. We decided to make jewelry.
We are self-taught jewelry makers. Ken now has the equipment to take a rock, cut it into a slab, and then create a one-of-a-kind cabochon. Once a cabochon, Ken passes the stone to me for wire wrapping. I will make a pendant or earrings; Ken has now added rings, bracelets and jewelry repair to our repertoire.
Ken and I use only fine sterling silver and silver made in the United States. We will not use any base metals. We do use gold on a request basis only. Ken and I both do custom pieces for customers; stone cutting, wire wrapping or silversmithing.
All of our jewelry is one-of-a-kind.
